Crusades
Rhode Island Children's Crusades
Rhode Island’s poorest young people face serious barriers during childhood and adolescence such as poverty, language, frequent moves and subsequent school changes. They have no family history of higher education and, compounding that, attend low-performing schools. Without outside assistance, they will be denied opportunities in adulthood as a result of these barriers over which, as children, they have no control. Important state-wide systemic reforms have been in full swing in Rhode Island during the 16 years of the Crusade’s existence. More Info
