English, Special Educ. & Advisor
Paul Healy is an advisor and English teacher for grade eleven. He recently received his Masters in Education from Rhode Island College and his certification in Special education from the RIDE. He is now teaching English 11 and joining the Student Support Team focusing on students in all grades with diverse learning needs and styles. Originally from East Greenwich, Paul is a graduate of Temple University. Prior to joining BACS Paul did his student teaching in an urban school and worked with adjudicated teens in a community program. He has spent two years traveling the state as a member of the Governor’s Advance Team. Paul also teaches in the SPIRIT Program.
English & Advisor
Crystal is a native of Pawtucket and graduate of Tolman High and URI. She teaches English 9, Reading and Writing classes and is an advisor. She has also taught for the SPIRIT program for several summers.
Tasche Bryant teaches English 12 and Senior Seminar. Tasche worked for many years teaching English at Manhattan Hunter Science High School in New York City before accepting a district-level position to help improve one of NYC's underperforming schools. Tasche is a National Board certified teacher.
Marti Schwartz spent most of her teaching career in Smithfield, RI and was part of the first cohort of RIDE Portfolio training which led her to offering a variety of Professional Development opportunities to several school systems. She was the RI Christa McAuliffe Fellow for 1995-1996., and taught a seminar through Brown University for Novice Teachers for four years. Now she happily lends her expertise to both students and faculty as an ELA Consultant.
